The story behind my name comes from my mother. She told me that when she was a child she knew she would name her baby girl Adrienne after the actor Adrienne Barbo, because she was a beautiful woman. That is how my first name came Adrienne came about. It is used as a girl’s name consisting of 8 letters and 3 syllables, and is pronounced A-dri-enne. The origin of this name varies, because research shows that the name Adrienne is of Latin origin. However, from the German origin, the name comes from “Adria.” And in the English and French languages Adrienne is a variant of the name Adriana. My name consists of a plethora of meanings. The name Adrienne can be defined as powerful and complete. Along with having wisdom in order to help understand people. Another thing that I found interesting about my name is that I can represent self-expression through writing.
After looking up a variety of definitions for my first name, I find it quite interesting to know that a lot of these meanings actually relate to my personality. I can honestly say that I am gaining wisdom in order to be a relatable person to others. This also ties into me wanting to take on a career as a psychologist. As well, I’ve always used writing as self-expression. Writing has always been my gift, and since it is relatable to my name it explains why I like it so much. For the most part I must say that I am living up to my name’s full potential. You don’t find a lot of girls with the name of Adrienne, and that is exactly why I wouldn’t ever think to change it to something else. I feel like if I changed my name it would only take away from my true identity. I love the fact that my mother picked this name for me, because it represents such strong characteristics. Adrienne is a name that has value and is a name that I take pride in whenever someone wants to know who I am.
